“My time at the International Cello Institute taught me to accept making mistakes and work on getting better each day. I fed off of the energy from being surrounded by such supportive cellists to make serious improvements to my cello playing. After three weeks, the growth that I saw in myself and my friends was unbelievable. The camp took my love for playing cello to a new height and I would highly recommend attending for an unforgettable experience.”
-Chris, 2017

“As a counselor and coach at ICI, it was a joy to watch the students grow immensely not only as young cellists but as people over the course of the festival. Each student left with a stronger grasp of the instrument, and their individual voices as cellists. One would be hard-pressed to find a music festival in which high caliber instruction and a supportive environment were balanced more harmoniously than at ICI.”
– Alex, 2017

“ICI gave me an intensive, fun, and most importantly inspiring two weeks of cello study that vastly improved my playing even before the festival ended. I loved the focus on community, encouragement, and diversity in the camp, and would love to go through it again!”
-Jason, 2014

“Attending ICI was a truly unique, gratifying, and enriching experience. On top of learning from world-class artist/teachers that come in to share their wisdom, ICI gave me the opportunity to collaborate and share ideas with great human beings. The camp is structured to give students from around the world an eye opening experience in a short amount of time. If you are interested in learning and sharing time with great people as well as opening doors to magnificent opportunities, I would suggest applying for Cello An American Experience.”
-Jordan, 2014

“While attending Cello An American Experience [Now ICI], students find themselves surrounded by other cellists who are of a similar age and who share similar goals. This creates an environment of support and encouragement. Students are provided the opportunity to work with a variety of excellent faculty, and it is very inspiring to watch each individual participant improve. During my time the past two summers, I created lasting friendships and learned the importance of sharing what I have to share through the music I love.”
-Ellie, 2012 and 2013
